The growing outsourcing industry in India is good news but it could also create some concerns particularly when it comes to security in outsourcing.

Hari Chereddi, senior manager for Polaris Software Lab Limited mentioned that one of the growing concerns in the Indian IT and Outsourcing industry is Information Security. Here is his statement:

"Though 95 per cent of these threats are averted with proper policies and systems configuration, other information risks such as identity theft, privacy and confidentiality are still posing challenges to IT companies with regard to information security, mainly due to outsourcing. With outsourcing, boundaries have expanded, and with it threat".

Due to the growing number of outsourcing contracts, the chance of breaching information security has doubled. In order for India to maintain their reputation as the top outsourcing destination, they must do something as quickly and effectively as possible.
