The importance of image could be seen in this news report. According to the report, Russia is hoping to partake in the outsourcing industry. Though Gartner have acknowledged Russia's potential, most companies are wary to invest outsourcing ventures in this country. The reason? Bad Image.

Ian Marriot, the research VP for Gartner explains it further stating that: "One of the biggest challenges is global public perception of Russia as a place to take work to. If you look at what companies are doing, they are saying they are happy to do business in Eastern Europe - but not Russia. That's going to take years to break down."
