More and more companies are now exploring the possibilities of security outsourcing and how this outsourcing could affect their organization.

Before, companies are not really into this kind of outsourcing because of the risks that is involved with outsourcing the security function of a company. Of course, it would involve the exposure of private data and information-something that companies are not comfortable with.

The market research company, Gartner revealed that this type of outsourcing would grow to at least 20% for this year showing an increase from last year's€ rate. John Pescatore, an analyst in Gartner mentioned his intake about this stating that:
"Outsourcing is growing in general, and some companies are finding that if they can offload some routine tasks like firewall management and handling of intrusion detection alerts, they can spend more time reacting to emerging business needs."
