The Growing KPO

Knowledge Process Outsourcing is one type of outsourcing which is rapidly growing in India.
This type of outsourcing is known to steer away from the usual call center outsourcing which is taking India by storm. KPO focuses more on skills-based tasks. One of the reasons why this type of outsourcing is growing is because it provides more challenges and growth as compared to the usual call center outsourcing industry.
According to the article entitled India seeks higher-value outsourcing work, KPO is described as the outsourcing industry where "companies are trying to move up the value chain and away from call centers staffed by young people tutored in American accents. As well as examining financial data and drafting patents, firms in India are managing payrolls and accounts for Western companies, carrying out market research and doing a host of other high-value tasks."
This kind of development in outsourcing is very nice to hear because it implies that there is really evolution in outsourcing.

Nice write-up. KPO, Knowledge Process Outsourcing, is a new wave in global outsourcing, which has evolved as an intellectual cousin of BPO, or Business Process Outsourcing in India. KPO deals with off shoring of high-end jobs in order to save costs and increase operational efficiencies. India has a huge amount of intellectual resources and specialized expertise, which makes it a one of the most favorite destinations.
