The Changing Outsourcing Scene
Filed in archive Best Practice on January 16, 2007
If you would notice, reports bordering on the outsourcing industry are not showing big outsourcing deals being signed. Instead, most of the reports are focused on the changing scenes in outsourcing.
If you have not picked out the changes, let me share with you my observations on these changes in the outsourcing scene:
Shorter Contracts - Most of the outsourcing deals which are signed by companies often cover a small period of time because most of these firms are more knowledgeable regarding the time frame that they need for their outsourcing functions.
Quantity-Wise Small Value Contracts - This means that outsourcing contracts which are signed today have lesser value as compared to the outsourcing deals signed before. Though that is the case, the number of outsourcing deals have soared as compared from before.
More Choices, More Competition - Outsourcing vendors have known how to stand out from each other and that is by having their own "specialization". In this way, companies would have more options when it comes to their outsourcing decisions.
I expect that these changes would continue in the outsourcing scene and hopefully, the changes which would follow could be for the betterment of the whole outsourcing sector.
