Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is planning an expansion by doubling its US staff from 600 to 1,500 employees and offering consultancy services in the next year.

The Indian-based IT services company, known for performing low-cost software development and maintenance work in India, is now setting its sight on a key market for IBM and Accenture Ltd.

Surya Kant, president of TCS America, said that the company wants to diversify its revenues. As such, TCS plans to provide advanced IT consulting services alongside its staple software development.
