Queensland utility Tarong Energy Corporation has extended its partnership with Mincom by signing a three-year IT outsourcing contract with an option to extend beyond 2008.

Under the agreement, Mincom's global managed IT services business, Mincom Managed Services (MMS), will provide infrastructure and support services for 365 staff at five sites in Queensland and South Australia. MMS will supply data communications, network, desktop, helpdesk, server, security, disaster recovery and applications support & maintenance services.

At present, MMS already hosts Tarong Energy's enterprise resource planning system, Mincom Ellipse. The partnership between the two companies began in 2000 when Tarong selected Mincom as its IT infrastructure outsourcing provider.
