Systeme Lauer to Set Up Indian Arm Soon
German automation company, Systeme Lauer, plans to setup an Indian subsidiary in the following months. The company will survey Indian's automation industry and plan its marketing strategy from the report.
Lauer's Indian operation would either be a wholly owned subsidiary, or a joint venture with the company's outsourcing partner, Elecom Software. The Indian subsidiary is intended to become Lauer's marketing hub in Asia.
Thomas Hartmann, head of Lauer's software development, said, "We are now outsourcing all new projects' software development from India, which has turned out to be the most effective for us." The company is gradually moving the entire department (based in other countries) to India.
Lauer adds, "Although we do not directly sell to India as of now, our products are being used in the country through companies like Alstom, which is our client in Germany. There are other vendors who have also sold our automation products but we don't have the actual count as to how many of our equipment are being used."
