Stronger IPR Protection in India
Filed in archive Outsourcing Issues on August 13, 2006
IPR Protection is something that every outsourcing firm prioritizes when dealing with their outsourcing contracts. In response to this, India's Ministry of Information recently amended their IP rights program.
The newly-amended IPR is said to lessen incidents of patent infringement and are patterned based on International trade rules regarding intellectual property. Another reason for the said amendment is to spread awareness regarding patents in the outsourcing hub.
Alongside this new move in IPR, the Ministry also announced that they would launch a "patent watch center" to monitor illegal activities.
