Still Negative
Filed in archive Outsourcing Issues on January 28, 2007
Though the number of people showing negativity in outsourcing has declined, there are still some groups who have not changed their pessimistic view in outsourcing. Take for example the BBC workers.
According to this news report, BBC workers are now protesting the company's decision to outsource. Here is an excerpt of the said news report:
Members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) at the BBC's television licensing headquarters in Bristol, southwest England, were to take industrial action on Monday and Tuesday, warning that the outsourcing could lead to hundreds of job losses.
More than 100 workers were to strike after a 95 per cent vote in favour of industrial action.
This incident could not be helped especially for the employee's part. The loss of their jobs is something which they view as a violation of their rights. Even though that is the case, I am sure that there are other opportunities waiting for them.
