outsourcing

Risk Analyses

Filed in archive Best Practice on March 14, 2004

The risk factors to be taken into consideration prior to making the decision to outsource to a particular supplier are:

- Supplier readiness (expertise, quality and focus)
- Country risk factors (political, socioeconomic and legal)
- cultural factors (communication style, working style, etc.)
- Knowledge transfer factors (internal and technical readiness)

Internal factors within the company would also make a huge difference. Communication infrastructure and corporate culture are two of the most influential factors.
