Recovery in Outsourcing

As companies experience failure in outsourcing, their usual attitude is to bring back the recovery process in-house. The latest research done by Gartner revealed the different reasons why companies implement such business strategy.

Here are some of the reasons which the study mentioned:
-A desire to tighten recovery-time windows to 24 hours - and often to less than four hours
-The distance of recovery sites from the customer's data center
-Inflexible, long-term contracts of three to five years
-Inflexible testing options and environments

Though this could be the usual reaction to this situation, Gartner suggested that hastily bringing it in-house could not be the best option in this instance. Personally, I think that companies should more or less think about this so that they would have the chance to know the best option for their companies. Failure to do so could lead to another failure-something that these companies do not need anymore.
