The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises advised public sector enterprises to employ outsourcing in order to increase global competitiveness.

According to SCOPE Director General, S M Dewan, as public sector enterprises expand and increase the volume of work, more manpower is needed to manage their business. However, more manpower would result in inefficiency, and thus, outsourcing should be adopted to remain competitive.

Dewan named HAL, BHEL, and Power Grid as good examples of organizations that outsource their support businesses.

In addition, Senior Specialist on Employers Activities for South Asia, Rajen Mehortra noted that new areas of outsourcing have now emerged, and core businesses are starting to be outsourced. He said that services such as transport, security, catering, payroll, training and recruitment are now being outsourced by many enterprises.
