Pakistan Aims for Outsourcing Slice
Filed in archive Outsourcing News on August 20, 2007
Amidst turmoils and political chaos in Pakistan, the country is hoping that they would be the next India when it comes to outsourcing.
In terms of available English workers, Pakistan also offers this kind of talent pool as Yusuf Hussain, managing director of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) remarked that they also have abundance when it comes to English-speaking candidates. Aside from that, Ashraf Kapadia, the president of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA) also mentioned that they have a lower salary rate which is 30% lower than India.
Despite these advantages, there is one thing that makes investors worry about Pakistan. There is of course the political instability in the country. Successful outsourcing in a country should is also because of the political stability that these outsourcing destinations have. If Pakistan would not resolve this problem, their dreams of having that outsourcing slice would not be tangible even if they have these advantages.
