In any case, I believe that outsourcing could be at the leading edge of the recovery, as careful organizations try to grow their footprints without growing their head counts.

Well, I do believe that outsourcing services by poor countries does help their economy. Like in Philippines BPO, it helps employ thousands of skilled IT staff and in return provide excellent services to their foreign clients.

That is true that companies try to get some assets off their balance sheet to improve their short-term cash flow. The same holds true for the staff.
On the other hand, outsourcing makes it possible companies to grow. And in a longer period of time it is possible that they employ more people and/or capitalize additional assets.

We cannot end outsourcing simply because local jobs are lost, outsourcing has an immense upside in its effect on the lives of poor people. It presents a unique opportunity to assist people mired in poverty just like us here in the Philippines.

Great post, I agree. I think a great addition that might help others would be learning how to outsource. It’s
really helped my business. I found a free outsourcing mini coarse and I learned a lot from it. It’s amazing what
you can do when you can hire someone for $4 per hour to help you run your business. http://virtualadministrativeassistant.info/minicourse/index.html

Outsourcing involves certain amount of risks to be taken, both by the companies outsourcing their projects and by the service providers. This is especially true when businesses are involved with complex and intricate IT projects. Three major risk factors as, financial risk, where the costs of a project escalate beyond expectations, time to market risk, where the projects are not delivered on time and delivery risk. In order to combat these risks and get the most out of the service providers:
1.Always make sure that the returns are favorable: Companies outsourcing their IT projects should make sure that their primary goal is a specific project result and not just cheap labor.
2. Remember that methodology matters: In order to achieve complete satisfaction, companies should stipulate that the vendor should use specific methodology and governance that will result in proper project execution.
3. Keep in mind that success is a joint responsibility: With all decisions made in advance and timely feedback, outsourcing companies and service providers can reduce the risks involved and effectively reach their business goals.
4. Allow room for things to change: Both the methodology and the priorities should be reassessed and reconfirmed periodically to effectively meet deadlines.
5. Insist on end to end alignment: Companies should make sure that all resources, including staff, are properly aligned with the outsourcing companies overall business goals.

Outsourcing is very common. It is one of the fastest growing trends in today's business. Many businesses preferred to outsource their jobs to other counties because it helps reduce cost that adds to their savings.
