As per analysts, the market for Australian outsourcing has matured and a number of businesses are in the second or later stages of subcontracting parts of their business. Now the question for businesses is whether or not to outsource but whom to outsource.

As per Jens Butler, Principal Analyst, Ovum:

There's a lot more maturity in the buying market. Most organisations have been through at least one phase of outsourcing in one way or another.

Earlier the decision to outsource was cost savings but in today's scenario, the decision for outsourcing depends on productivity, capability and service level improvements. In today's scenario involving outsourcing deals, customers tend to move from one provider to another.

Michael Pain, MD, Accenture Management Consulting Division observes:

In a mature segment such as IT outsourcing, outsourcing contracts today also often mean a change from one outsourcing provider to several specialised providers rather than job cuts for internal workforces.
