A new research by Arizona-based CAPS: Center for Strategic Supply Research and Chicago-based management consulting firm A.T. Kearney revealed that businesses do not outsource a substantial bulk of their activities.
According to the research, 86 percent of 165 companies surveyed in 24 industries outsource less than 25% of their overall business activities.
Moreover, the average level of outsourcing among 14 business activities was only 15.8%.
It was also found that in IT, the most outsourced business activity, only 14% of companies outsource over 25% of this function.
