Sir Digby Jones, director general of the Chamber of Britishlinks Industry, said developed countries should not worry over job losses due to offshore outsourcing. He explained that offshore outsourcing actually drives an economy upmarket where there are big rewards.

Jones stated, "You've got somebody doing the work that is a commodity, send it away... have the courage, don't protect the market, let it go." He added, " Skill the person into value-added work, they earn more money so they stimulate the economy, they spend in the high street or they pay down their credit card debt."

A better skilled British workforce results in a more flexible labor market and lower unemployment. Since 2000, more than $27 billion had been added to Britain's economy by sending unskilled jobs offshore.
