Outsource Intelligently I
Filed in archive Best Practice on April 1, 2004
We haven't found any candidates to be honored at the Outsourcing Walk of Fame yet, but we certainly know how to become one. Theoretically speaking...
Some of best practices I've gathered from various sources:
1. Team up with local firms. As they're the expert of their own regions and culture, local firms have the resources and knowledge to provide workable insights to US companies.
2. Do what you know best. Outsource what you know best, which may include the main businesses or services you provide. With your expanded knowledgebase, you have a higher bargaining position and better resources to maintain quality.
Confidentiality, however, must be guaranteed from the outsourcing supplier. A strong and loophole-free contract must be carefully crafted by business attorneys.
More best practices are coming shortly!
