New UK law points at attempts to regulate outsourcing: Nasscom
Nasscom president Kiran Karnik has commented on the UK's revised Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations saying that the new law indicates the first signs of protectionism taking root in the country.

Karnik added, "Though there would be no big impact of regulations on Indian companies but it is a matter of concern. It (the change in regulations) is a small step by the government to regulate and control."

Karnik has noted that the UK has been open to outsourcing. Leaders of the country have not suppressed the growth of outsourcing and have even stated that it was beneficial to the UK's economy.

The regulation seeks to give security to workers of a company when another firm acquires it.
