India's National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) will host an animation meet dubbed ` Nasscom Animation India'. The two-day event to be held on January 12 and 13 will address global opportunities and strategies for the animation and gaming industry in the country.

India is emerging as an alternative destination to Korea, the Philippines and Taipei for animation outsourcing. Currently, the country's animation industry is growing at an estimated annual rate of 30 percent.

Entertainment companies such as Walt Disney, Imax, Warner Brothers and Sony have already signed contracts with Indian animation companies. Also, the country is also being recognized as a post-production hub for animation.

Nasscom will release a study on the Indian animation and gaming industry.
