Multi-Vendor Outsourcing Preferred
Many IT firms are now moving away from the conventional method of having only a Single outsourcing provider.
This was the result revealed by the latest survey done through 100 global 100 CIOs. Statistics from the survey also showed that 45% of the respondents revealed that they are in favor of utilizing multiple outsourcing vendors in order to distribute the company's project requirements. Only 17% revealed preference for single providers.
I guess the result just shows that more and more firms are exploring the benefits of outsourcing as well as determining which method would work for them.

One of the reasons why single vendor outsourcing contracts are shrinking and multi vendor outsourcing is being preferred is due to the fear of the locking with a particular vendor in case of which the whole business suffers. Outsourcing to multiple vendors reduces that risk to some extent.
