Legal Process Outsourcing – Who Benefits

?Unlike the US, where it is reasonably settled that the financial benefit of Legal Process Outsourcing is primarily passed through to the client, the rules in the UK are a bit different.

Apparently, clifford Chance is intending to offshore support functions (including client work) while still retaining the ability to price those services. Such an approach – at least for the type of services that LPOs provide – would be problematic in may US jurisdictions, and may also be viewed by clients with trepidation.

Time will tell if the Clifford Chance model will be sustainable in a marketplace where the justification for permitting offshoring is cost-driven, not quality-driven.

There are many types of legal documents, letters etc that are typed every day. Should legal typing be done only by a specialist? Well not necessarily if you are good at words and typing. But remember that in a legal document every word matters and one cannot afford to make mistakes. So it is better to get it done from a legal typist or a professional transcription specialist.
