KPO in India: Thriving!
Filed in archive Outsourcing News on August 5, 2006
Before, india was only known as a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) destination but nowadays, another type of outsourcing seems to be taking over India. This new type of outsourcing is called KPO or Knowledge Process Outsourcing.
According to a recent study, KPO in India has a higher growth rate (45%) as opposed to BPO showing only a 25% growth rate. 50% of the work in KPO is related to research work in medicine and pharma.
KPO is considered as a more complex industry as compared to BPO because most of the work in this outsourcing industry is Intellectual Property-based.
Though it may seem that KPO in India is flourishing, there are still challenges in this outsourcing industry. The blog, IndianRaj mentioned these two challenges:
1. Expensive training of workers in this outsourcing industry
2. Rising concerns regarding security and confidentiality

My philosophy for sucessful KPOS is Think Global Act Global. If we keep this in mind, al KPOs can be successful.
