Japan's NTT Com signs first India outsourcing deal
Japan's NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) has awarded a two-year outsourcing contract to SlashSupport.

The outsourcing deal will earn the Indian tech support company about $10 million over three years. Under the agreement, SlashSupport will support NTT Com's desktop management contract and infrastructure management including servers and networks.

Machifumi Kashiwagi, vice president of NTT Com's global business division, said, "This is our first partnership in an outsourcing deal with India. Of course we expect India to be an IT superpower. We also find abundant talent in India."

Shiva Ramani, chief executive of SlashSupport, said that the company will add 500 employees in infrastructure management services in the next year alone. He added that infrastructure management is expected to reach $50 million (25 percent to its revenue) in three years.

NTT Com, the global data and Internet services arm of Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corporation, expects to make a 30 to 40 percent cost savings from the deal.
