IT Outsourcing Do's
Filed in archive Best Practice on July 25, 2007
Stumbling upon an article which features their own list of do's and dont's is a very fun thing for me. I know it sounds strange but I just love reading different lists of people because they have different points of view regarding a similar matter.
Take for example this article written by Brian Skelly which talks about his own "Do's" when it comes to IT outsourcing. Here are some points which he listed down:
-Have a sound IT strategy before outsourcing
-Set clear targets and objectives before entering an outsourcing deal
-Spend time choosing the right partner - not just the one with the right skills and technologies but which offers a good cultural fit with your company
-Put in place a clear governance model to manage the outsourcing deal - this includes a detailed SLA
-Take a long-term perspective - outsourcing usually yields the greatest benefits if done over a long time frame; it's not a quick fix.
