As the name implies, it outsourcing (Information Technology Outsourcing pertains to information and software-related functions. Some of these functions include security and storage management.

Actually, IT Outsourcing could be considered as a BPO but since dealing with IT outsourcing requires much more than the needed requirements in BPO, it is sometimes considered as a separate category.

Most of the decision in IT Outsourcing falls under the CIO because the outsourcing of these tasks means a combination of business process and knowledge process outsourcing alongside the ability to navigate IT system and support.
