Is Outsourcing Destroying America?

Is Outsourcing Destroying America?

They say that anything done in excess only results to negative effects. Does it hold true in outsourcing?

The article, How Outsourcing Will Destroy America tackles this issue. According to the author of the article, thomas Emmon Pisano, everything nowadays are done in China which gives them the power over Americans-economically. This means that China has the power to destroy the US if they wanted to. All they have to do is stop importing these materials and viola! America would be crippled.

Greed was pointed out as the main reason why there are many outsourcing contracts existing. The jobs that American people once had are now in Chinese shores. The resolution given in this article is to limit the outsourcing deals to "few non-critical items".

Personally, this article shows the very negative side that outsourcing does to America alone. It is very difficult to evaluate if outsourcing is really good for the whole world but from where I stand, it could not cost much destruction as pointed out by the author.

People that write stuff like this really don’t understand the complexity of market systems.

There’s another side to the equation also: Americans have voted with their dollars that they want these quality, but less expensive imports.

What would happen to China on the other hand, if Americans decided they didn’t want to buy their goods anymore, or the next country comes along that can make them just as good, but at a cheaper price?

Greed has nothing to do with this, the consumer and where they decide to spend there dollars does.

Interesting…2010 now…and the economy is in shambles.

It is widely known now that outsoursing jobs out of the US played the key roll.

Yes, the market is a complex system, but sometimes just one thing, like an oil leak, can make a complex system useless.

You take away money (income) from the market (people) and now there is no money to spend. The life style must continue so debt (loans) rise.

If anyone is listening…you want to fix America…bring back jobs!

Outsourcing is a result of capitalism and it will continue to affect whatever jobs or products that can be outsourced. China and other countries that benefit will eventually start buying products that are cheaper than can be made by them causing a reverse flow but this will happen only when the wealth is evenly spread between developing nations and developed.
