Innovation = Outsourcing?

More and more IT leaders are questioning the innovation benefits of outsourcing especially when it comes to IT functions.

Based on this report written by Carolyn Johnson, more IT leaders are satisfied in the innovation done by in-house groups as opposed to the innovation done by outsourcing providers. 85% were satisfied for innovation in-house while 78% remarked that they were satisfied with outsourced innovation.

There were at least 290 IT executives that participated in the said survey. I think that this kind of reaction is normal considering that some companies are not that prepared when outsourcing their IT functions but they still want to have 100% quality results.
