Indian tech firms overcoming infrastructure woes

services are likely to grow by 23 percent ($4.8 billion), software exports will increase to 32 percent ($13.2 billion), and domestic technology services are expected to rise to 23 percent ($4.3 billion). IT-enabled services and the BPO sector are seen as top performers, with a 38 percent growth ($7.2 billion).Kiran Karnik, NASSCOM president, said, "The BPO story is continuing to be robust and strong, and the engineering services [are] getting more important."
However, a lack of adequate infrastructure is hampering growth. S. Ramadorai, chief executive of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., said, "This is a matter of considerable concern to us." Ramadorai stated that NASSCOM is in talks with to construction firms in Singapore to create nearly a dozen "integrated townships" in a bid to get around infrastructure hurdles.
