Indian KPO: Growing or Stagnant?
Filed in archive Outsourcing Issues by Carol Kendrick on August 18, 2006

The white paper released by Kelly Services, an employment firm shows that the size of the Indian KPO market in the year 2010 would only amount to more than 5 billion dollars and would only employ an estimate of 100,000 people. These figures disclosed by the white paper was based on the research done by RocSearch, a UK-based research services firm.
The reason for such decline was simple: Lack of talented workers. Though India has the a massive number of graduates every year, not all of these people are eligible to work in the KPO industry. If the Indian government would not do something about the lack of talent in India, the possibility of Knowledge Process Outsourcing in India would diminish in the future.
