Indian BPOs eye US healthcare
Filed in archive Outsourcing News on September 17, 2005

Indian healthcare BPO companies are now targeting niche businesses in the US healthcare sector. Analysts say that offshoring to other countries will increase because of the need to comply with the Health Insurance Profitability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the US.
"The verticals such as healthcare administration, medical management and imaging are in high demand in the US and India can make this a niche BPO area," said an official from Atlanta-based STI knowledge. Outsourcing to Indian companies can provide cost-savings of 20-30 percent.
Aside from these, more business opportunities such as imageology, electronic transactions and electronic claims will be available to Indian BPO companies.
