India: China is Not a Competition
Filed in archive Opinions & Insights by Carol Kendrick on August 27, 2007

Despite China's desire to overthrow India as the top Outsourcing Destination, India revealed that the country still has a long way to go.
Ameet Nivsarkar, the vice president of NASSCOM enumerated the challenges that China has first to overcome in order to achieve their goal. Some of these challenges include the language which is English, the few significant players present in the Chinese economy, the 5 years lag in Chinese software and services industry as compared to India.
As I said in the countless number of blog posts I have in China outsourcing, the country still has a long way to go. Aside from that, the country also needs to focus on one more thing: QUALITY. Something that China needs to prove in the world.
