Dayanidhi Maran, India's Union Communication and IT Minister has announced that India and Sweden will work together in key IT areas such as e-governance, telemedicine and small and medium businesses software usage. Memorandums of Understanding in these areas would be signed in Delhi to finalize the cooperation agreement.
Maran said, "Sweden is highly advanced in telemedicine and e-governance. I have also asked the Minister to support us financially in the telemedicine projects." He said that the country would share its best practices and experiences to India.
Already, Swedish telecom equipment companies - including Ericsson - have increased operations in India.
Ulrica Messing, Sweden's Minister of Infrastructure, said that stronger relations between Sweden and India would help both the countries learn from each other in the field of IT.
