Filed in archive Outsourcing News on May 13, 2005

According to The Register, HP has decided to transfer jobs to an India-based "global partner" by October this year. Because of this, between 200 and 300 technical support workers of twenty4help in the UK and Ireland will lose their jobs.

Job Cuts will start in July when 40 percent of call loads will be shifted to India. By October, all the calls will have been transferred to India.

An HP spokeswoman said that the company would not "comment on rumors and speculation". Similarly, services company twenty4help has not commented on HP's decision.
