DuPont is extending its 8-year partnership with Computer Sciences Corp (CSC) as it signs a $1.9 billion contract to extend their services for seven more years.

Since 1997, CSC has handled a variety of IT projects for DuPont including a major SAP implementation and supply-chain initiatives. The initial contract also saw the transfer of 2,600 DuPont employees to CSC.
DuPont's long-term contract with CSC is contrary to the prevailing industry trend of having shorter contracts with multiple vendors. DuPont CIO Robert Ridout said outsourcing IT support to a single vendor helps DuPont in "streamlining our global business operations."
