The China Outsourcing Summit will be held at Shenzhen, China from December 5 to 7. The summit will feature analyst presentations, Case study presentations, and meetings with Chinese outsourcing firms and officals.

The analyst presentations will focus on the opportunities and challenges of outsourcing in the country, and will include The State of the China ICT Market 2005, Overview of Global Outsourcing & How China is Positioned, Offshore Growth Accelerators and Inhibitors in China.

Case study presentations will give IT executives the chance to meet with local firms to discuss local outsourcing and explore partnerships. In addition, chief information officers and sourcing executives will have an opportunity to meet with government officials to learn about the country's economic climate and policies.

"China is rapidly becoming a major global player in the information and communications technology industry. Its goal is to develop leading worldwide brands across the entire ICT spectrum: hardware, software, telecommunications, semiconductors and sourcing," said Jamie Popkin, Gartner group vice president and research fellow.

"As the 'next big shore' in offshore sourcing strategies, China offers a low cost of labor and increasingly skilled workforce. There are literally thousands of Chinese ITO and BPO companies, yet outsourcing to China is a relatively unexplored territory for most businesses," said Philip McKay, Vision Events group vice president and general manager.
