BT Inks Multi Million-Dollar Outsourcing Deal
Filed in archive Outsourcing News by Danny on March 23, 2005
BT has been awarded a $6.5 million telecommunications outsourcing deal by SCA Hygiene Australasia (SCA HA). Over the next three years, BT will provide data, PABX and mobile voice services for the company's Australian and New Zealand operations. This new contract replaces a number of solutions with different service providers.

Gerard Guinane, IT director at SCA HA, said that BT would initially manage existing telecommunications infrastructure and contracts. BT would also link Australasian operations with the SCA multi-protocol label-switching platform to provide access to global services hosted from Gothenburg, Sweden. Additionally, BT will facilitate workshops to create future plans for the company.

Raj Kapoor, BT Australasia managing director, said that SCA HA's complete data separation from its former owner, Carter Holt Harvey Ltd, and seamless integration into the global SCA network are among its top priorities. He also added that the company can add value by using the latest technologies in supply chain management and radio frequency identification.
