It seems like the Pharmaceutical industry is intent in making sure that they take advantage of every outsourcing opportunity. Before, only production and R&D are being outsourced but now, Pharmaceutical firms are going beyond that.

According to the research study done by Equaterra, Pharmaceutical companies are now more inclined to turn to BPO and IT outsourcing activities aside from the usual tasks which they outsource. The study also revealed that 44% of Pharmaceutical companies have already outsourced parts of their IT and BPO functions.

Participating companies of the study also showed that they have no intention of cutting back on their outsourced function. Now, this is what I call business strategy in outsourcing.
