Boeing to outsource engineering services, more software work to India
According to a company official, Boeing Co. may outsource engineering services and software work to India as part of a deal with Air India. Air India has ordered 68 planes from American-based Boeing.
Dinesh Keskar, Boeing's VP of international sales, said the deal requires Boeing to spend about $1.8 billion on investments in India's aviation sector. He added that investments will go to software work for onboard computers for the planes, manufacturing parts for the aircraft and pilot training.
Keskar said that Boeing is already working with India's Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. to identify possible manufacturing ventures. Keskar: "The scale is going to go up for them naming some of the companies as HCL Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro Ltd. We are also going to look at engineering services."

It’s not a novelty that India is now the ideal country for outsourcing but even so there are things first to consider before engaging our business in this country. One of those things would be assessing other outsourcing options too for a specific business activity, this effort needs to be made if we want business development by the book.
