Telecom company Bharti Tele-Ventures and IBM have teamed up to develop IT and telecom solutions for the Indian enterprise market. The Managed Services initiative is part of the Joint Go-To-Market program created in the outsourcing deal signed by Bharti and IBM in March 2004.
Under the arrangement, Bharti would provide telecom infrastructure and lead sales engagements while IBM Global Services would provide IT infrastructure and technology management services to their clients.
The initiative would target banks, financial services and insurance companies, manufacturing and government departments said President of Infotel Business Group of Bharti Tele-Ventures Badri Agarwal.
The agreement would also enable enterprises to outsource their non-core activities to Bharti-IBM and open new revenues stream for the two companies, stated IBM Global Services India Managing Director Shanker Annaswamy.
