Another Country Heard From…
While it is easy for us in the US and UK to think that nearly all outsourcing is in North America or Europe (and that most is happening in the English-speaking world), this story shows how outsourcing is going into new markets in areas with enough common language and tradition to make the transition reasonably easy.
In this article, an increase in outsourcing from Thailand to Cambodia and Vietnam is chronicled. And we're not just talking BPO and back-office processing. Instead, this is call-center work.
Can India and Bangladesh be far behind? How about Russia and the Ukraine or the other Slavic states? Could regionalization become the new globalization?

Not only India, even Nepal has been uprising in the global outsourcing.
Nepal, located between the two giant outsourcing countries, China and India, is a breeding ground of highly qualified IT experts. And its even more cheaper than India and the qulaity of the work is similar. Dutch software companies like Javra Software has been working from Nepal for 2 years and delivering excellent applications to its client all around the globe.

Interesting article. From our own experience here in Thailand we see indeed some moves from Thailand to other parts of the region such as Cambodia, India, China. However, we have also a significant amount of customers coming back to Thailand because apparently the quality of the outsourcing in other countries is not as satisfying as in Thailand. Also other aspects are named reason why they come back to Thailand such as infrastructure to Western standards, skills of employees, central location, presence of long established and newly emerging industries.
