Airbus outsourcing to China to boost sales

In effort to boost sales in China, European-based Airbuslinks has decided to increase the outsourcing of parts in the country.

Airbus will buy $60 million worth of components from Chinese companies in 2007 and $120 million by 2010. With the increase in its outsourcing efforts in the country, the aerospace giant hopes to further integrate the Chinese market in its supply chain and increase sales.

According to Airbus spokesperson Gu Wei, the company would like to raise its $15 million sourcing in China. He added that proposals---including establishing joint ventures in the country---are being
