Under the contract, ACS will operate PennDOT's call center for driver and vehicle services. The BPO and IT provider will handle customer calls about driver licensing and motor vehicles. In addition, they will also handle the scheduling of road testing for new drivers.
The call center---to be located in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area---will employ approximately 120 people, and will be fully operational by January 2006.
Allen D. Biehler, PennDOT Secretary P.E, said, "We are pleased to enter into this partnership with ACS to provide an important customer service to Pennsylvania drivers and vehicle owners. The company has considerable experience in call center operations and in the use and application of appropriate technology to help PennDOT improve service to our customers."
Tom Burlin, Group President of ACS Government Solutions, added, "We are extremely pleased that Pennsylvania has chosen to deepen its relationship with ACS. We're committed to providing quality service at the best possible price for our clients."
