Accenture wins application outsourcing deal from Unilever
Accenture has been awarded a seven-year IT services outsourcing deal by consumer giant Unilever.
Under the contract, Accenture will provide application development, implementation, and support services to Unilever's operations in 25 European countries. Services will be delivered from Accenture centers in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, and hungary. In addition, a number of staff would be transferred from Unilever to Accenture.
Related to this, Unilever's European employees held a "day of action" last December fearing massive job cuts due to the company's restructuring.

This was a big win for Accenture. This agreement has proven to be something you rarely see in business, a good fit for both sides.
